Philanthropy In Pediatric Health Care
Myron and Berna Garron generously gave $50 million dollars to the Toronto East General Hospital in 2015 in memory of their son Michael who passed away of cancer at the age of 13 in 1975. In honour of this gift, the Hospital was renamed the Michael Garron Hospital. The Garrons have also supported many other foundations. In 2019 Myron and Berna Garron were recipients of the Order of Canada for their philanthropy in pediatric health care.
