15 Oct. 2026 Susan Puff Oct. 15, 2026 I've been the Executive Director for the Broadview Danforth BIA for 16 years. During that time I've worked with our 355 business members through many highs and lows - the Danforth shooting, Covid, construction, current inflation and tariff challenges. We've shaped the look of the area, hosted live outdoor summer music programs, and organized holiday events. We are a BIA that strongly advocates for our members with all 3 levels of government to help them through the challenging times
22 Oct. 2026 Joan Barrett and John Barrett Uganda - The Pearl of Africa Oct. 22, 2026 John Barrett John has been a Rotarian for 14 years in the Rotary Club of Scarborough. He is a Past President (3X) and is currently the President of the club’s foundation, as well he is on the District Public Relations Committee & District Foundation. He holds a key roll in the club’s annual ribfest & golf tournament. John was with IBM for 35 + 10 as a ROCK, years prior to his retirement. He was a programmer & Systems’ Analysis. He spent the last six or seven years as the country’s date security manager (including seven countries in the Caribbean). Joan Barrett Joan has been a Rotarian for 16 years in the Rotary Club of Scarborough. She is a Past President and is currently the Youth Services Director for the club. As well, she is the Chair of District Membership, Chair of the District Basic Education & Literacy Committee & an Assistant Governor. She is also on an ICC – Canada/Russia and BELRAG. Joan was in education for over 40 years, first as a teacher and consultant and then as the National Literacy Consultant for Scholastic Canada. Together, John & Joan have travelled for Rotary to Laos & Uganda supporting major projects in District 7070.

05 Nov. 2026 Phil Craig Remembrance Day Nov. 05, 2026 Phil Craig is Co-Founder, Lead Historian and Master Story-Teller for Liberation Tours and is als a co-founder of the Georgina Military Museum in Keswick, Ontario. He has been guiding battlefield tours for over ten years. Phili has won many awards for his military historical work including an Ontario Heritage Trust Award and has received a Minister of Veteran Affairs Commendation. He is also a professional film, television and stage actor.

17 Dec. 2026 Julie Brown The WoodGreen Foundation Dec. 17, 2026 Julie Brown, CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive), currently holds the role of Director, Major Gifts at The WoodGreen Foundation, one of the largest social service organizations in the Province of Ontario, Canada. Over her 25-year career in the charitable sector, Julie has worked across a wide range of causes and organizations, mostly for women and children, bringing a versatile and deeply informed perspective to her work. She is a passionate professional with a keen interest in stewardship, which has become the hallmark of her career. Julie has shared her expertise with many leading charities across the sector including Sick Kids, Easter Seals, Bloorview, and the TSO (to name a few), contributing to the broader professional development of the fundraising community. She has volunteered with CAGP (the Canadian Association of Gift Planners) for many years across numerous committees, and currently serves as a mentor and sits on the Conference Host Committee 2027 for the Greater Toronto Chapter. In her spare time, Julie enjoys golf, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
