RCMP Superintendent Doug Best (retired) was the former A/CROPS National Security, responsible for all counter terrorism investigations throughout the province of Ontario, with the exception of the National Capital Region.
 
Doug joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in 1977.  In 1981 he was transferred to the RCMP Security Service where he remained until 1984.  At this time he transferred to the Federal Ministry of The Solicitor General of Canada, currently known as Public Safety Canada.  He returned to the RCMP in 1996 and was posted to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he was a lead investigator and later operations officer on the Air India bombing investigation.  His work in major crime has included extensive exposure to covert operations, border integrity and protective operations.   During the course of his career, Superintendent Best has conducted investigations internationally and across Canada.
 
Doug holds a B.Sc., B.Ed., and M.Ed. (Administration).
