Remaking NYC Post-COVID

Raphael Anastas holds a degree in vocal performance from NYU Steinhardt and is a recent graduate of the Master of Arts Management and Entrepreneurship program at The New School’s College of Performing Arts. Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Raphael moved to New York City in 2013, and has since worked as a theater artist, administrator, and media manager for organizations like The Ume Group, Bluelaces Theater Company, Trusty Sidekick, Creative Goods Merchandise, Page 73 Productions, The New School, and Make Music Alliance. Raphael is entering his final year at The New School to complete a second master's degree in Media Management (MS).

Raphael examine New York City's emergence from its months-long status as the global epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. He will reflect on his own lived experience, and offer lenses on the pandemic's impact on the arts, education, exacerbated racial inequality, public space, climate justice, and community recovery as NYC continues the "re-opening" that began in the end of June.
